This one’s for film buffs only really. The majority of Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange was filmed in the concrete walkways and brutalist tower blocks of Thamesmead South – a vast housing estate built on reclaimed marshland out Woolwich way. It’s good for fishing and there are canals aplenty for walkers, but it’s really best as an example of how not to build in London. Still if you do want to get the old bowler hat and eye make-up on, this is the place.
