Just 25 minutes from the center of Manhattan you’ll find an oasis of horticultural marvels at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. It’s a refuge from the bustle of New York City. There are 52 acres of gardens, plant collections, conservatories, ponds and climate-themed pavilions, as well as an art gallery. One of the most popular times of year is the month-long cherry blossom season (known as Hanami in Japan) from from late March or early April to mid-May.

The BBG, an oasis in the heart of Brooklyn
A truly beautiful oasis in the heart of a bustling, urban area. Be sure to check out the Cranford Rose Gardens when they are in bloom in June. A visit to the the neighboring Brooklyn Museum is well worth a visit as well, the permanent collections are wonderful.
