Bates is a tiny shop that specialises in tweed caps and traditional hats. It feels straight out of Harry Potter – I imagine you can travel there from platform 9¾. Bates hats have crowned the heads of gentlefolk for over 80 years and in addition to tweedy caps you’ll also find panamas, top hats, fedoras, trilbies, deerstalkers, the odd fez and, of course, thinking caps.
Wonderful traditional hatter
This shop is well worth a visit with its amazing range of hats from straw Panama's through to wonderfully retro felt trilby's. You go in for a browse but the extremely helpful informative staff end up find a hat for you that you couldn't live without!
