Now one of the most distinctive tourist attractions in New York, the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier was one of the most successful ships in US history. Launched in 1943, she served in World War 2 before going on to recover spacecraft for NASA and then serving in Vietnam. Since 1982 her flight decks and the surrounding dock have been transformed into a fascinating sea, air and space museum. The Intrepid has been undergoing renovations and repairs and is due to reopen on November 8th.

Its a great place for kids and adults alike- very interesting
