Yauatcha
Chinese uber cool ...

I was lucky enough to be taken to Yauatcha by a friend ... although the outside is extremely cool it's easy to miss, on the busy Broadwick Street corner. I thought the food was stunning and if you go with an expert on Chinese cuisine a revelation ... but even if you just pick random dishes you're in for a treat.

Some of the best dishes anywhere

Try the silver cod. As good as anything you'll eat in London. Dim Sum is superb too, and the wines are strong. Make sure you leave room for pudding too. The only slight downside (and it's not enough to lose the 5* rating) is that they sometimes hurry you along and insist that you don't outstay your two hour limit on the table. My advice is to book late in the evening when the bankers will have left. Always go downstairs rather than the ground floor, especially in winter when the cold gets in.
Swanky dim sum

Alan Yau has pulled off this swanky dim sum restaurant in two parts: one a restaurant and a teahouse upstairs. All lovely. Food is great, cocktails are great. It's a bit expensive but well worth it. 150 different kinds of teas, 24 varieties of dim sum, all well crafted.

Tickle those tastebuds
A real festival for the tastebuds.
