A blend between boho chic and trader's boozer, the Gold houses a lot under one roof. You wouldn't expect to find a gazebo style restaurant nestled in the back of the place. It serves up adequate nosh, and it's good for groups looking to get cozy with some booth action. The bar does the do, and with tables outside it's a busy place at the weekend. It also offers up some very reasonable hotel room rates. The clientele are mostly local, and happy to spin you a yarn about the old days urban myths.

Oysters in the bar, crazy golf on the roof
This is a great place for a seafood feast or a long, relaxed lunch under the huge palm leaves. If you decide to stay here, there's a crazy golf course on the roof, for the 'penthouse' room. Not a lot of people know that.
