Prune
Queued for an hour, all I got was this lousy wurst

The East Village's premier brunch spot is memorable for its long waits, Bloody Mary menu (versions of the cocktail which may feature a pickled egg, or beef jerky swizzler) and dishes which don't always sound appetising. Spaghetti Carbonara at 10am? "Youth Hostel Breakfast" (with fish pastes and liver wursts)? Me neither. But eccentric as it may sound, it works. What is arguably the city's most innovative brunch is also delicious - a good call if you've reached Eggs Benedict saturation point.
