Before heading home from the Union Square green market, stop here for a bottle of something special, or pop in on one of their many wine-tasting events (Saturday afternoons are a favorite). May 2009 events include two pinot tastings, a tasting to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and another featuring South African wines. If you're in the mood for even stronger local stuff, USW carries Crop Harvest Earth organic vodkas, in tomato, cucumber and "plain," all made in New York state, $30 per bottle.
