East Village seafood restaurant The Mermaid Inn is perfect for a summer evening. Sit in the garden or cosy dining room and shut your eyes to imagine you're on the Cape. New England staples clam chowder and lobster sandwiches make up the menu next to hearty spaghetti with shrimp and scallops. A nice touch is dessert-on-the-house - chocolate pudding or a Magnolia cupcake on Mondays. Cutely, this always comes with a Fortune Teller Fish - is your date passionate or fickle?
