Though open year round, the action at this Midtown rooftop bar heats up right along with the weather. On 230's roof, you can sit under a genuine palm tree and munch on a selection of small plate appetizers. Sip your martini while you take in the gorgeous views of the Empire State Building. If the night air is a bit chilly, head to their indoor lounge and warm up by swaying to the DJ. 230 Fifth makes a great Midtown pit-stop before racing to the parties downtown.

Sure the drinks are expensive and it's tough to get a seat but this place is awesome. I have been too many times to count and that view still takes my breath away every time you step out onto the roof and look straight at the Empire State building. If you have a friend visiting from out of town, take them there but don't tell them anything about it, you will see them looking so confused as you walk through the lobby of the seemingly residential building... only to reveal the view and amaze!

I was here in February 09. The roof terrace has incredible views of the manhattan skyline and is one of the best bar's i've ever been too.
Can highly recommend the hot blueberry cider topped up with vanilla vodka.

The view is to die for
Overpriced cocktails, but the view and ambience are worth it. The artificial grass is not so cool. The buzz around you will take over once you're a couple of drinks down. A must visit.
