'Bloomie's' fills a whole city block and sells more than a person could ever want. In fact, there's so much in here that you should set aside a few hours for a proper visit: don't try and do this in a rush. The uber department store was founded in 1861. Now there are 36 Bloomies across the US, including more in New York. In 1961 they invented the designer shopping bag: a 'eureka moment' in retail marketing & perfect for carting quantities of luxury clothing, fragrances and household goods home.
