Most of the views along this waterfront are of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge as well as attractions such as the South Street Seaport, but streets to the west such as Wall Street are easily accessible. While walking the path here along the east tip of Manhattan one can follow the opening lines of Herman Melville's Moby Dick - "Circumambulate the city of a dreamy Sabbath afternoon. Go from Corlears Hook to Coenties Slip, and from thence, by Whitehall northward."
