Vying with Harrods in terms of sheer shopping space, Macy's on Herald Square is one of the city's cultural landmarks. Featured as the location for the Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street, the department store sponsors the city's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade as well as the Fourth of July fireworks celebration. Offering a stunning amount of merchandise over an expansive area, Macy's is more than a tourist destination. New Yorkers of every stripe may be found to shop there year round.

international (british) tourists take your passport and go to the customer service area just up stairs as you walk in the main entrance and get an 11% discount card!

The famous department store
Offering a stunning amount of merchandise over an expansive area, Macy's is more than a tourist destination. This year for Independence day the store will have fireworks released from six barges around 9.20pm.
