If you’re going to be in London a few times this year, here’s a real insider’s tip: if you join the Tate you get free access to every exhibition in all five of their galleries around the UK. And what’s more it also gives you access to the members’ bar in Tate Modern, where you can sip a glass of wine and discuss the relative merits of Bacon and de Kooning as you look out over St Paul’s and the city.

Great views, comfy seats

Whether you've just had your fill of art, or it's Friday evening and you want to escape above pavement level - the Tate Modern members' bar is a great place to chill.
Food prices are a bit punchy, but the drinks are good and there's nothing better than a bottle of wine and a bit of chat as you watch the sun go down over St Paul's.

You feel a bit special
What a view and you don't have to share it with that many people. It feels like a treat to be able to watch life go by on the Thames and see the London skyline while munching on some choccy cake...
