Art house flicks in the Village

The Quad, a Greenwich Village egghead destination for almost three decades, shows so-called "foreign" and art-house flicks on four screens, usually with English subtitles. I adore this place -- it's offbeat, unpretentious, and frequently almost empty. The only drawback is that the seating rows are narrow. If you've got hip or knee problems, call to ask about more comfortable seating; two of the theaters are wheelchair accessible. Tickets: $11 for adults; $8 for seniors and kids from 5-12.
