The take-out side is in the former Corner Deli, which also houses the secret entrance to their subterranean celeb-tastic lounge. The restaurant around the corner has a dozen tables and a nice homey-library feel. The fish tacos are simple and sized appropriately, but the masses flock here for the grilled corn with queso fresco. They are open year round, but the lines in the summer are a bit much to contend with. Go early for a nice lunch meeting, or sit at the counter and watch the crowds.

The last time I was in, the only people I saw that werent over the top stylish or attractive were in large parties .
Trek through the kitchen to the downstairs restaurant and get ready for a great time!!! I have only been during the week, so I am not sure what the weekend crowd is like - but this would be a great place to take out of town guests to give them a taste of real downtown NY.
