This pearl of a restaurant has been a favourite of Londoners since the early years of the 20th century, and has only got better since Michelin-starred chef Richard Corrigan started bossing the bivalve-opening in the 1990s. Thankfully, the original Arts & Crafts surroundings have survived a revamp, and the wonderfully fresh seafood – stuffed baby squid, roast lemon sole and, of course, oysters – is as delicious as ever.
