This museum is a London place that we are proud to call our own. From design and fashion to photography and architecture, the changing exhibitions here always seem to highlight the hottest stuff around. For example, the last time Itchy ventured down, we saw an exhibition of clothing and shoes made from animal skin and feathers. Seriously, this is one of the best of the bunch, and a great spot for meeting your next arty lover over a blurred photo you can both read deeper meaning into.

Plan a series of visits

Rating about 1 year ago

The V&A has far too many collections to appreciate it all in one visit, so decide which collections to focus on. My favourite is the extensive Sculpture rooms. They are generously laid out to appreciate all perspectives of each impressive piece. The highlight for me is the marble Sampson and Philistine. Whatever your tastes, you will find a world class collection. The V&A is also a reliable source of 'good-taste' gifts. Leave time for tea and cake too!

The perfect rainy Sunday afternoon

You can lose yourself in everything from fine art to collected curiosities. The British rooms alone are worth the trip.

Great day out in South Ken

Rating over 1 year ago

I spent most of a day here on a weekday, wandering about and sometimes even having whole galleries to myself! A real treat is to go to the cafe for lunch and dine out in one of the special rooms... my favourite is the comparatively modest Morris room, which is nonetheless impressive next to its gaudier neighbours. My native Londoner colleague recommends the hot chocolate.
