Children with New York dreams put this legendary New York toy store on the top of their holiday and birthday lists. FAO Schwarz is famous for its Fifth Avenue location (in a relatively new iteration by designer David Rockwell in the GM building) across from the Plaza Hotel (and surely, Eloise, the hotel's famous child, would be the store's best customer) and for upscale stuffed animals. The store features several levels of playful displays. Children are warmly greeted by toy soldier doormen.
